Diagnostic Assessment

We diagnose Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) — neurological differences like dyslexia, which can impact how children learn and process information, and affect other areas of their daily life. SpLDs are not related to intellectual ability and can co-occur with other conditions.

In addition to assessing SpLDs, we can also assess your child’s wider learning needs. By assessing their intellectual functioning and cognitive ability, we can create an overview of your child’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses, which can help us to identify any additional learning disabilities.

Dr O’Hagan works in partnership with the Cheshire Autism Diagnostic Service to assess and diagnose autism for children and young people.

NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines are followed for all assessments.
