Dr O’Hagan completed her doctoral thesis at The University of Manchester entitled, ‘Autism, Anxiety and Enabling Access to Education.’ Previous research explored: the role and nature of friendships for children with autism; educational psychologists’ experiences of assessing girls with autism; the experiences of parents who home educate autistic children. Upcoming research explores how different local authorities support pupils at risk of exclusion, and how educational psychologists support parents whose children are experiencing barriers to education leading to school non-attendance.
