Consultation & Observation

Educational psychology consultation is a collaborative problem-solving process in which we work in partnership with teachers, pastoral staff and parents sharing knowledge and strategies in order to improve educational outcomes by addressing barriers to learning, whether they are cognitive, emotional, behavioural, or environmental. This process usually has five stages:

  1. Initial consultation with the teacher to understand the concern
  2. Observe the student in class
  3. Review the student’s learning history and any assessments
  4. Collaborate with teachers to develop strategies/actions
  5. Follow up to evaluate and confirm successful outcomes
